Cold Connections is the art of combining two or more pieces of metal together without the use of heat. Get innovative using alternative methods to create jewelry. In this workshop you’ll create a 3 layered pendant out of brass & copper from a pattern provided and saw out your design using several techniques in assemblage for cold connections. You will learn the basics of wire & tube riveting and will spend time exploring saw piercing work, textures, drilling, filing, hammering and adding patina to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your metals.
This workshop has a maximum of 4 students and will include all materials/consumables and use of all tools/equipment. Basic Metalsmithing experience is recommended to receive the full benefits of this workshop however it’s not required. Let’s get creative! Participants must be at least 18 yrs old. No prior experience is necessary. Contact the studio if you don’t see a date that accommodates your schedule or for any other questions.
